Episode II: Attack of the Clones

I will be honest, Episode II is probably my least favorite Star Wars movie. That does not mean it is pure garbage. However, I would recommend more extensive rewrites than I did for Episode I.

I decided to write a couple of posts for Star Wars Day. I was having a conversation earlier this week about movies in general and the idea was brought up that people are just so hypercritical these days.  Don’t get me wrong, I like to nitpick movies and Cinemasins is one of my favorite YouTube channels.  What I mean by hypercritical is that many people see movies as great or terrible with no in between. I can like things about a movie without liking the movie as a whole, just I can dislike things about a movie but like the overall movie. There are movies that I love and will re-watch over and over again. Does that mean they are perfect? No, no movie is perfect. Every movie has some flaws or plot holes.  So, since it is Star Wars Day, I thought I would highlight things I liked about the individual movies, and some things that I think would have made them better.

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

Yes, I’m back.

“This is not going to go the way you think! ”

I’ll start off this by saying that I thought that this movie was good, but not great. I saw the movie twice and I have discussed it with a few close friends and read a couple of reviews. One thing I will say that I think a lot of fans need to keep in mind is that no one, not J.J. Abrams, nor Rian Johnson, not George Lucas, not me, not you, could make a Star Wars movie that would satisfy everyone. My proof? Some things that some people hated, others loved. Some people’s favorite scenes were someone else’s least favorite. I mean, Star Wars has a huge fan base and a rich, in depth backstory. You can’t please everyone. There, that is the spoiler free version of my opinion.  Now, onto the spoilers.

I don’t watch a lot of horror movies but IT is an amazing film. I find the art of horror movie reboots very interesting. It can show the differences between what sacred one generation and what scares another.

Old Man Logan

Old Man Logan is a Wolverine story that takes place in a dystopian future, after most of the Marvel Universe’s heroes have died during an apocalyptic event puts the world’s villains in control of the United States. The story is very dark and violent in the best way. It’s very interesting to see Wolverine fight without his claws and with the addition of a blind Hawkeye by his side, the whole thing is very thrilling.

Here We Go Again: A Review of The New 52: Future’s End

This title which will run monthly for the next eleven months first came to my attention a week or two ago when an issue #0 was put out for Free Comic Book Day. Now that I have read the first issue, I am going to call it, “The place DC sends canceled characters” Once I get into the story you will see what I mean.
