True Heroes

Posted in Not a Review with tags , on May 28, 2012 by murthareviews

Today is Memorial Day in the United States of America. It is a day when we remember and honor all of the men and women who have given their lives in the service and defense of our country.

We honor them as heroes. They did not fly, they did not have super human strength. They could not run faster than sound, they could not control the weather. They did however have the courage and sense of duty to sacrifice themselves for the good of all.

I have known such men. I will never forget their sacrifice, for as long as I live.

So, today, as you watch a movie, read a comic, or just relax, please take a moment and be thankful that such people lived.

In memory of
SGT Gregory Owens
SPC Andrew Roughton
PFC Dennis Pratt
PFC Anthony Lightfoot.

Now I read Rise of the Vimpires and I really wanted to review it. However, I just couldn’t get into it. I had high hopes for JLD and I wasn’t seeing it. However, this issue has resparked my interest. I loved it.

Saturday Cartoon Report

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , , , , on May 27, 2012 by Karan Seraph

Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: A repeat of episode 15 “Perplexahedron” is s a decent, if overt homage to The Cube.

Thundercats: “Recipe for Disaster” is one of the…weirder episodes. Still separated from Kit and Kat, the five older Thundercats aid  a snakeoil dealer type character named Ponzi, and his giant caterpillar companion, whose wagon has lost a wheel, to later discover the elixir they earned in thanks may be integral in stopping Mumm-Ra’s latest scheme.

Green Lantern The Animated Series: “Homecoming” Hal and Razer race to find a way to beat Atrocitus to Oa, while Kilowog attempts to delay the Red Lantern fleet. Climactic episode of the emotional~ superhero action show!

Sword of the Atom 01 short: Kinda cross between Fern Gully and Honey I Shrunk… in which Ray Palmer crashes a plane somewhere in a South American jungle, and is stuck at about 6 inches tall.

Young Justice Invasion: “Beneath” Jaime (Blue Beetle) is looking for Tye Longshadow, a young Apache chief, from whom he received a distressing call the night before. Meanwhile in plot B, an all-female squad is dispatched to fictional Bialya where Queen Bee rules, to follow leads related to the bomb of off-world origin. Cass, Barbara, Megan, and Karen (Wondergirl, Batgirl, Miss Martian, and Bumblebee) infiltrate the large island nation, where the appearance of an unanticipated enemy requires they change strategy.

Super B.F.F.s short: Supergirl, Wondergirl, and Batgirl are super girly.

Legend of Korra: Repeat of Episode 1, “Welcome to Republic City”. Second ‘verse same as the first, except 1920s-like. This is a good thing.

Transformers Rescue Bots: Repeats of episodes 3 and 4 “Hot Shots” and “Flobsters on Parade”.  It’s like EUReKA, except with Transformers, and way family-friendly!

Transformers Prime: “Toxicity”
